Once in a Super Blue Blood Moon.

Weekly Astrology Program, Week 5
January 28, 2018 - February 3, 2018

Hello Stargazers!

We look to the heavens to see what’s making our world spin (on any level!).  This week we have the second full moon of January.  It’s actually a Super Blue Blood Moon.  It’s quite a mouthful, but the coincidence of these three astronomical phenomena hasn't occurred in over 150 years!  Isn’t like grand?  What a unique opportunity!  So how are we to go about it?  Well let’s dive in and see what’s in store.

First off, we are making way through the month of Aquarius, a time when the cosmic weather is lighter and electric.  We are in a state of purification, unpeeling all the layers which cover the truth.  During the month of Aquarius, the naked truth wants to shine.

So, we do this within.  We don’t need to be afraid of what comes up, because we when we deal with the truth, we always have the choice to change whatever it is we unveil.  Many of us mistake self-discovery for some sort of sentencing or punishment.  Maybe we don’t want to change, or maybe we are afraid that if we find out “the truth”, we won’t be able to change it.

That’s just not the case.  In fact, true change can only occur once we know what we are dealing with.  So, please remember that we can always change, but only once we know where we stand with ourselves, or the issue, and (most importantly) accept it.

This leads us to the next phenomenon of the chart: Mars, the planet of our fighting spirit, just entered Sagittarius, the sign of perception.  Ok, so first of all, there is a lot of “fire” energy available.  The normal symptoms this transit can bring is impatience, arrogance, and a perception worth fighting for (even if it’s wrong!).  For example, one expression of this transit expresses itself in situations whenever we don’t take the time to understand something and rather attack the subject altogether.  We all do this.  We don’t “get it”, so we “take it down”.

As stated, maybe we don’t take the time, or we need to really study to form an original thought.  The natural defense is to just “make it wrong” without really knowing what we are talking about.  We didn’t read the memo, and it’s “their fault”.  Mars in Sagittarius, left untamed, can make us really defensive with anything that asks us to understand more.

If we can tame it, then we can access the part of Sagittarius that has a HUGE perception.  With Mars transiting the sign, we can breakdown outdated methods which keep our world small.  Educate yourself and stop blindly following others.

It’s so easy to get caught up into the union of hatred and “being right”.  So, just ask yourself this week, “do I want to be right or do I want to accept the truth?”

Now onto the Super Blue Blood Moon on January 31st.  The moon will be very close to earth, eclipsed by the earth and double strong as it is the second full moon of the month (remember: we had the first  full moon earlier this month).

When the full moon is eclipsed it sort of makes normal full moon rituals weaker!  I have a full moon ritual and workbook available (see below if your interested in getting a copy) which helps us remove obstacles to manifestation.

Full Moon Ritual Workbook

But when the full moon is eclipsed by, essentially our world, we need to work harder to remove these obstacles that we can normally get rid of during a full moon.  BTW: Watch The Super Blue Blood Moon live here.

No need to panic though, because we just need to redirect our usual full moon efforts.

Bluntly put, ego is going to be out of control.  It’s going to try to overshadow good news, recent rewards, victories and the humorous side of life.

All we need to do is remember this.  It will pass.  It might feel a little bit heavy, but remember it’s just a transit and thereby transitory (as I always say).  Try to access the humorous side and recall the good news.

Now, if we can manage that, we will be able to unveil the hidden beauties that a Full Moon Lunar Eclipse has to offer.  Although the ego will have all the attention (as the sun will upstage the moon), this means we can put all our attention onto the Sun.  The opportunity is unique in that we can de-energize negative karma that is keeping us from moving on.  It’s the day to move on.  It’s time to release the past, time to really let go of the old paths and really commit to the new passages.  After doing that, we can celebrate them to the fullest extent when the full moon is over.

We all have something we really need to let go of once and for all.  That thing that keeps us from our true north.  Then we will begin to build.

Have a wonderful week and I thank you for being the one who makes a difference by using dash Astrology.

This week breakdown (and notable transits):

  1. Sunday: There could be some unexpected healing going on today, especially in regards to our words. Maybe we have learned by now that gossip and slander only bring pain and suffering. Sun in 1st decan Aquarius semi-square Chiron.
  2. Monday: Today is a beautiful day of yin and yang harmony. We need to see the light in the dark and the dark within the light. There is no bad, there is no good. Union between people will only contribute to the overall project. Moon opposite Saturn.

  3. Tuesday: Building upon yesterday, there are brilliant ideas in the air to bring things together. Keep a pen newarby. Mars quintile Venus.

  4. Wednesday: Ego has rule today, but that doesn't mean we should roll over and play dead. Find the humor in life and get ready to discover hidden gems that only this transit can reveal! Super Blue Blood Moon in 11* Leo.

  5. Thursday: Seed Level for the month of February! Consciousness is all! Move forward on your path, and do your part. Use all limitations to refine your efforts!  Jupiter semi-square Saturn, Moon conjunct N. Node.

  6. Friday: We might feel like airheads today. There is a lot of creative force broadcasting in all directions. Use it for your projects and be careful to not get too distracted with all those desires and opportunities! 5 Planets in Aquarius, Venus semi-square Jupiter.

  7. Saturday: It could be that we keep getting interrupted. But we can use it to our advantage. Maybe we need to interrupt ourselves from doing something stupid or that would waste our time. Love is never interrupted, but sadly it goes underappreciated. Saturn semi-square Jupiter & Venus.

In my weekly write-ups, I refrain from using “astrological jargon” because it really doesn't make sense to people who know nothing about archetypal astrology.  But I do indicate my science in the footer.  General transit forecasts tell us what is going on in the world and how people are acting in general.  Detailed and specific forecasts are of course read in relation to your birth chart.  Meanwhile, if you want a more detailed explanation of where these energies are manifesting specifically for you, book a dash astrology session with me.

Largest Full Moon of 2018!

Get ready to ring in the New Year with something far more illuminating than fireworks in the night’s sky.  On January 1st, 2018 at 6:23 PM (PST) there will be a Full Moon in Cancer.  Use this time converter to find the time of this lunation in your time zone.

What’s very special about this Full Moon is that the moon will be very close to the earth, making the moon appear larger than normal.  In astronomy, this is called a perigee syzygy, and in astrology we call this a SuperMoon.

The perigee (which means near earth), will occur hours before the Full Moon, at just 356,565 kilometers away from earth making it the closest perigee and SuperMoon of 2018.  What a way to kick off the New Year on this first day!  What's more is that this Moon is also called, the "Wolf Moon" which is really making a howl right from the start.  This is very auspicious as we will soon enter the Chinese New Year of the Earth Dog and we know that all dogs are descendants of the wolf.

We also know that January 1st is the seed level of the entire year so what is this telling us?

Well, we need to look at the archetypes at play.

First, when we take the number 356,565 (which is the number of kilometers the moon will be from earth) and break it down, we get the number 3, which is all about creativity, abundance, multiplication, and increase.  We use kilometers because NASA does.

The number 3 rules the planet Venus, and when we look at the chart of the SuperMoon we find that Venus will be conjunct the Sun as well as opposite the Moon.  This actually raises mother issues for all, and as we all have a mother, we need to be aware of the challenges that could come to light now and for the rest of the year.  It’s about holding onto chaos or celebrating freedom.  I know this is a lot to process, but we have a year to work with this energy arising.  We will want to resolve mother issues, either being a mother or with our actual mother.

This is, of course, only one interpretation.  On the abstract level, we are being creatively challenged with how we perceive and handle our world.  It is our task to really find harmony in change more than ever.  As a society, we are so geared to reading about the latest advancements in science and technology, and even line up to get the latest iPhone every year, but how well do we welcome change in our own life?  It’s really about changing that which we think should remain the unchanged.  We are all being confronted with an area we are unaware of that will ask us to change it.

If, on the other hand, are on a spiritual path, meaning mindful, open, and honest, then we probably already have a good idea of the changes we need to make to align with harmony.  Remember, harmony will always prevail over the ego and it’s comfort zones, etc.  Let’s try to be proactive in this respect.  In dash Astrology, we want to always remain ahead of the curve to transcend the astrological effects as they are arising.  So I want to mention that maybe you have been preparing for this in the preceding weeks, and now you know why.

This SuperMoon will occur in Cancer.  Cancer is ruled by The Chariot archetype which is the vehicle of the divine expressing itself through us.  It symbolizes our body, our home, and the physical manifestation of the essential self in a unique and perfect way.  Biologically speaking, Cancer rules over speech, the stomach, the breasts and chest as well as the disease, Cancer.  So we have a very healing Full Moon on New Year’s Day.

There could be scientific advancements, or maybe even the cure to Cancer could be revealed and accepted.

Astrologically speaking, Cancer teaches us how to integrate all the archetypal energies, and put them into action.  It is able to do this because of its sensitivity and ability to act out these energies in motion, aka EMOTION.  With Cancer, we need to be careful of feeling overwhelmed and hosting negative energies.  It teaches us how to cleanse negativity and nurture ourselves as well as others into being centered.

The co-ruler of this SuperMoon is Pluto, who is currently transiting Capricorn.  This tells us there is a huge emphasis on leveling up!  Pluto is the planet of judgement and resurrection.  It judges us to the degree we have judged others.  However, Pluto is also the planet of transformation and upgrade.  Pluto wants to wake us up from “The Matrix” as it has the power to move us from a place of darkness into a place of light.

Considering all of the above, we can heal our darkness during the largest SuperMoon of the 2018.  We will need the extra light illuminated on New Year’s Day so that we may direct it wherever needed.

Depending on where this is happening in your birth chart will already give you an idea of where the light will go on its own, without conscious meditation and direction.

Given that perigees are often time of earth shattering and tidal waving phenomena, and given that Cancer rules the coastlines and shores of the earth, I ask for all of us to pray for mercy to avoid any natural disasters, storms or coastal, tidal surges.  If we can help others, we will unlock the celebratory, joyful and fulfilling energy of this SuperMoon in Cancer.

January will have the honor of hosting 2 Full Moons this year: the first on the 1st and the second on the 31st.  Be sure to check out my Astrological Guide on the first 12 days of January to create your New Year!

I recommend using the blend “cancer” as well as “therapy” during this SuperMoon Lunation.
