Chinese New Year 2019: Earth Hog

In Chinese tradition, 2018 was the first year of the earth cycle. In 2019 we embark on the second cycle of earth, which puts our focus on the yin aspects of earth, hosted by the hog animal of transformation.

A Spiritual Perspective on the "Immigration Crisis"

Immigration Crisis Spirituality.jpg

What’s most revealing about the inability to embrace Trump as POTUS is how far off we are, as a collective, in our understanding of karma.

In order to understand this article, one needs to have a basic understanding of karma and reincarnation.

Reincarnation is the process in which we are reborn, or reincarnated (there is a difference by the way), from one life into the next to complete our personal, as well as collective, karma.

Karma is essentially an accumulation of actions across many lifetimes that we are held accountable for.  So for example, that thing you did when you thought nobody was looking, might manifest as an illness you need to heal in your next life.  Everything is recorded all the time, there is no privacy on the karmic level.

So, right away, we see that anything we have not completed in one life will transfer over to the next.  Whenever we are seeking a better life, we need to first make room for it by clearing out the blockages that stand in the way.

Now, I want to reiterate from other articles and teachings I have given, that I am not political, I am spiritual.  However, using the political movements as well as the collective reactions serves as a great mirror to shed a spiritual light upon the nature of our world.

In my line of work, I deal a lot with what’s called “New Agers”.  They are often seeking some truth, and are very open minded as long as what they hear fits into their idea of what “spiritual” is.  Their definition of “spirituality” is often a modernized version of the American Hippie movement from the 1960’s.  They want to strip power away from worldly leaders, while having this flowery idea that spiritual teachings and spiritual leaders will liberate them from suffering without needing to experience any consequences of their actions.

When I say consequences, I’m talking about the consequences of taking out a huge bag of trash: it will stink, it will be heavy, and it might even break on the way, but it will be gone.

New Agers and those who practice decorative dharma, are unable to handle the “consequences of taking out the trash” but like the idea of getting rid of it.  So what happens is that they use drugs to suppress the metaphorical garbage smell, heaviness, etc.

In other words, a spiritual lifestyle is not all flowers, it’s the process of cleaning up karma.  It requires sobriety of body, speech, and mind so that we may recognize the spiritual opportunities as they are presented.

We rather use our mental functions to suppress that which we don’t want to look at or listen to and this is far more effective and far more powerful than a drug induced suppression.  Top that with being able to find any article or report to support our preferred point of view, and viola! we experience a sense of “being right” and “having the moral high ground”.

Yet, anger and other unresolved emotions seethe beneath the surface of our politically correct attitude, and being politically correct is so two thousand and eight.  Either way, of course karma, good or bad, is accumulated.  When it will strike, nobody knows.

But really, all we need to do is to turn on the news and look at all the karma returning back to mankind, individual and collective.  This is the good news and the bad news.

Again, I hope this article will provide some sense to anyone who has been looking for it.  If you’re tired of getting sucked into the news reports and the negative perspectives, maybe considering the spiritual context of what’s going on in the world will help you and your loved ones.

It really all starts with President Trump and our inability to accept change while we have been professing that ‘yes, we can’.  I also want to mention that 99.9% of New Agers are Democrats or Liberals.  So I am saying that Liberals and New Agers alike, claim to want fairness and change in the world, but are once again caught in their own hypocrisy, meaning they only want it if it happens on their terms.

There is no way for us to know when karma will strike or how it will strike, or what that will look like.  And although there are many ways for us to judge the karmic process, it will not change a thing!  To take such a stance is arrogant and marinated in megalomania!  In short, attacking Mr. Trump, his family, and his supporters and discrediting each and every success is removing us from a spiritual lifestyle as it becomes a justification for acting out our unbridled hatred - our unresolved karmic view.

On one hand, the New Agers, and maybe some Liberals (who are also New Agers) claim to understand and accept karma and the law of reincarnation, yet they fail to understand when it is occurring!  Let me be very clear, karmic situations do not fit into our idea of “justice”!  In fact, they fit into no man’s idea of anything!  It just is JUSTice!

Without digression, at the time of this writing, the biggest news is “the immigration crisis”.

Again, if this isn’t just a media play to distract us from probe into Hillary Clinton’s misconduct, we need to take each manifestation at a time to maintain a spiritual perspective of what’s really going on.

First, I want to convey that I have a lot of compassion for anyone who is going through any sort of suffering.  I work with suffering people all the time, chances are that you do to, you just don’t know it.  I have suffered myself, greatly while growing up and also when I almost lost the love of my life.

In spirituality, we understand that suffering is a process of purification of negative karma.  It can take years for any spiritual seeker to understand and accept this and most people can’t ever accept it for others.  Now why is that?

Well, it’s a backdoor to judgement.  It’s easy to take the high road and claim, “I accept my suffering, but I am going to fight for others who shouldn’t”.  That’s just not how things work.  Everyone is responsible for their own suffering whether they are aware of it or not.  Just ask any parent: can they really take the suffering of their child away?  No.  They can only console them and support them.

In the same way, we are foolish and delusional to think we can remove suffering from other people’s lives.  We can only lead the way out of suffering, and that’s a great help!  Don’t get me wrong, don’t force a misunderstanding: leading the way out is the most and the best thing we can do.

Thinking we can eliminate suffering in someone’s life is like saying we can eliminate their karma.  THIS IS VERY DIFFERENT FROM TREATING SOMEONE WITH HUMAN DIGNITY AND RESPECT, WHICH IS A MINIMUM AND THE FOUNDATION TO LIVING A SPIRITUAL LIFESTYLE.

This God-Complex of eliminating suffering would rather kill another person to protect its comfort zone disguised as freedom.  New Agers and Liberals do not want to take self-responsibility for their actions, nor allow others the chance to empower themselves with self-responsibility either.

This is how we should approach the news.  Again, with the understanding that karma needs to be played out and there is nothing we can do to change it once it has hit.  Taking drugs or suppressing the consensus reality, isn’t going to cut it either.

A clear sign of suppression is the emergence of assumptions.

Now let’s take on “the immigration crisis”.

We are all born into the family we deserve based on our karma.
We are all born into the country and city we deserve based on our karma.
Not one is better than the other.  The conditions are perfect for us to learn our lessons, rise above and grow.  No different than a french lavender plant that can only thrive in France, otherwise it would be something else.  Or like Marshal Mathers, who overcame his odds to become one of the most famous rappers of all time.

We can all, hopefully, agree that we need our family and environment to become who we need to become.  If we meddle with that process, we rob others of their karmic correction and ability to thrive.

On top of that, there are spiritual laws, that when broken have consequences.  These laws are not determined by any person, they are more like the laws of physics, such as gravity.  They can be bent and they can be broken, but they cannot be ignored.

Let me tell you a bit about my karma.  Both my parents were drug addicts.  Both abusive in their own ways.  My mother left when I was 4, and my dad attacked me all the time.  I had to run around from house to house when he would go on a spree and beg for the mercy of my friend’s parents.  Child Services always made things worse, so I didn’t like to get them involved and would lie to make it “not that bad”.

I was not always welcome when seeking refuge due to space or monetary resources.  A lot of my friend’s parents didn’t want to deal with my karma, especially when they had their own problems.  Of course as a child, I took it personally, but then I started to realize that it makes sense.  Of course, I did find refugee, but I always had to go back home at some point.  Until I turned 18, I was always on the run from my dad, with the occasional move-in with my mom.

But the point is that we cannot assume that every parent wants their child.  Parents are people, and people are selfish.  A good parent can put their ego aside and take care of their child.  But this doesn't mean that then they can all of a sudden judge other parents, or children for that matter now, does it?

In the same way, the United States has boundaries, which are violated everyday.  Now tell me, how do you feel when you’re violated and your boundaries are crossed?  When we understand spirituality and karma, we understand that everyone must walk his or her own path, so why should it be any different for anyone?

Anyone who wants to enter a space illegally, and then use the resources without giving back?  How would you feel if your neighbor two doors down whom you never met face to face breaks down your door and starts squatting in your hallway, using your bathroom, your food, all your resources and brings all his kids, too because your house is just so much nicer than his own?  How is that doing any good for resolving anyone’s karma?  Remember, we need to graduate from our environment, not run away from it thinking it will get better.

The Trump Presidency has shown us how unwilling and unable we are at really accepting karmic balance and fairness.  We all think things should be fair, as we define it, but really we just don’t want anyone to have more than others (nevermind ourselves).

O. J. Simpson, Tonya Harding, Harvey Weinstein, Bill Clinton and other public massacres.

Notice to the reader: Although I am an Astrologician, this article is only using events that have happened within the recognizable patterns of astrological context and is in no way shape or form linking the events, or persons mentioned. I have sparred my private opinion about the mentioned and am merely reporting on the timeliness and consequences. All I ask is that if you are not open to astrology, please read with an open mind as this is not an astrological report or advice. I welcome all and any feedback to my social media accounts.

I remember growing up in Los Angeles, circa 1995, seeing O.J. Simpson all over my dad’s TV, hearing the teachers talk about it at school, listening to it in the car and even at family gatherings. Because of my age at the time, I didn’t remember what was going on exactly, but I remember that it WAS going on. I imagine it’s probably what many of the kids today will remember about Donald Trump taking Presidency when they are older. Now years later as an adult, many of the same themes are re-surfacing, so I use astrology to look back in history in order to see what’s coming.

We are almost halfway through the Jupiter transit in Scorpio. This week, Jupiter will go retrograde so now it’s time to reflect on the themes of Jupiter in Scorpio which began in autumn of 2017.

READ: Jupiter in Scorpio: The State of Our Union.

Jupiter takes 12 years to make a complete cycle, which means it spends about 1 year in each sign. There is no doubt about it, Jupiter in Scorpio is an intense time. As it really shows, as a collective, where we stand with our Scorpio themes: death, transformation, and sex.

Before we look at what has occurred since October 2017, I want to take a moment and look back even further into a previous Jupiter in Scorpio transit which occurred from 1993 to 1994. In astrological terms, this was two Jupiter in Scorpio cycles ago, but in terms of our society, it was a time that changed the direction of our world. We always learn about the present and how to shape the future, by reviewing the past.

Is it a coincidence that both The Trial of The O. J. Simpson Murder Case and The Attack on Nancy Kerrigan both made headlines during a previous Jupiter in Scorpio transit? Not really. These events pioneered a new form of entertainment, shaped our society, and had merely been manifestations of the transit.

Astrology is all about patterns, and recognizing the effects here on earth. When we understand that Jupiter expands things and makes them bigger than life, and that Scorpio purifies and prepares us for the new, we can conclude that this transit exposes things to bring about change.

O.J. Simpson and Tonya Harding had both been underdogs coming from poor families and turned their fate around by becoming larger than life, All-American champions, breaking athletic records respectively (Jupiter archetypes). After the criminal allegations, they each faced media onslaught all within the 1994 Jupiter in Scorpio transit. This is in no way, shape or form linking the two, but merely showing the effects of transit.

Probably the greatest effect of the 1993–94 Jupiter in Scorpio transit was the dawn of reality television. The 24 hour coverage of The O. J. Simpson Murder Case and The Attack on Nancy Kerrigan primed America for reality television. Many of the top stars from reality television in the 2000s and 2010s, namely the Kardashians, had been directly or indirectly connected to the people in the O.J. Case. Karmically speaking, we will always be attracted (in our reincarnation) to the environment which best primes us for the life we are to live.

Scorpio likes to detect and get the inside scoop. This is why the Scorpio archetype makes for a great detective. But on the degraded level, it wants to creep and snoop on people, which is essentially what we are all doing when we watch reality television or are browsing on social media. Who needs high school unions nowadays when all we need to do is Google each other?

There is no doubt about it, Scorpio in Jupiter leaves a mark on society.

Since Jupiter has entered Scorpio in October of 2017, we have seen the “#MeToo” movement as a first response to the sexual abuse allegations against Harvey Weinstein and the like. Although The Clinton–Lewinsky scandal occurred in between 1995 and 1997, Jupiter only left Scorpio on Dec 9, 1994 which is too close for discard as not being under the transit’s influence. No surprise here, as Scorpio rules over sex, scandal and the misuse of power.

It’s only a matter of time before there are movies made about these allegations and the exposures, even if it takes another 22 years.

This transit can also be violent. I just want to remind everyone that this isn’t about Scorpios per say, as we all have Scorpio in our chart and thereby the wholesome and unwholesome qualities to watch out for.

We have also seen the Las Vegas and Florida school shootings. The most recent, at the time of this writing, was the Florida school shooting which was bigger than the The Columbine High School massacre. Again, we see here, suppressed male emotions and closed hearts (the heart chakra is ruled by Jupiter). When men are unable to control or heal their emotions, they are destined to behave inappropriately.

On an energetic level, men in general are prone to close their hearts from grief and pain, possibly from childhood issues. Men have a hard time accessing and dealing with these emotions left to their own devices and really need to seek the help they need as to not suppress these emotions, but to heal them.

Karmically, on the collective subconscious, men are programmed to “go out”. “rule”, and be “tough in the world”, so there is little propensity to really become vulnerable in the “dog-eat-dog world”, and understandably so.

But times have changed and modern man must too. The new modern day man no longer needs to be agro, on the defense, and in no way abuse or mistreat others. It’s appalling to to see the way men have mistreated women throughout history and even today. Again, in both cases, from the 90’s, Tonya Harding and Nicole Brown, both had been battered women in abusive relationships, unable to really break free to safety from influence.

Men can also be very disrespectful to each other, and do best when they accept that there is only one alpha male. That alpha male archetype is changing as times move on, and should not ever be held by someone who is violent or celebrated for poor Behavior. Of course, we all make mistakes, and we should not judge, but the key is on transformation, which is what scorpio is all about.

Scorpio rules crimes, as well as suppressed negativity which just explodes out of nowhere. But, I was a bit surprised to see how Jupiter has this type of effect when transiting scorpio. Usually, we think of Jupiter as the great “blesser” or “benefic” in astrology. But, when we look closer we see that Jupiter expands things and it also rules cycles, as it situations repeating over and over again.

So, after my research and contemplation, I conclude that wherever Jupiter is, it is expanding, the good, the bad, the ugly and in the case of Scorpio, the repressed emotional garbage.

The question remains, how can we avoid all this? What can we do to prevent these influences? Are we to blame the transits for this?

No, not at all.

Like I always say, transits are transitory. They will pass. But since we all move along the ecliptic, the situations may come back again. On the other hand, when the transit is occurring we have the opportunity to work out whatever doors are being opened. This doesn’t mean we should dig something up from 22 years ago, but then again, maybe it does, because maybe it will resurrect.

As always, we need to take it within. We need to look at only our own repressed emotions. Because believe it or not, each and every one of us makes a difference. One mind at a time, and within that mind, one step at a time. We need to look at our own repressed emotions and deal with them by healing them. Before we know it, they become the driving forces in our life just waiting to be expanded upon for the better or the worse.

Use whatever therapies you have and if you need somewhere to start, please reach out so that we can use the transit for the highest good of all life everywhere.
